Why limit yourself to the known exhibitions within your own sector/industry. There could be other trade shows/events out there that cater to your target group or a segment thereof. It can be highly lucrative to present yourself at one of these exhibitions.
There is a good chance that you’ll be one of the only ones representing your specific sector at that exhibition. The number of attending prospects may be smaller, but your chances at scoring are far higher. Develop an exhibition concept geared towards attracting a new kind of clientèle, the most logical objective when participating in a 'divergent' sector exhibition.
After all, the whole point of exhibiting is to establish contact with your company’s and product’s target customers. So if you can get to meet them by branching out into another kind of exhibition than your usual ones, you should grab the opportunity with open hands.
