The interest from foreign visitors has also grown significantly with the number of foreign trade visitors increasing from 4,504 in 2005 to 5,096 in 2006. The foreign visitors also came from a larger number of countries: 56 compared with 50 countries last year.- For a long time, we have focused on making the fair more international, explains Charlotte Wiking, Project Manager for the Stockholm Furniture Fair and Northern Light Fair. – We are primarily a Nordic trade fair presenting Scandinavian design and the major part of the foreign exhibitors are from the other Nordic countries. However, to make the fair even more attractive, it”s important to bring in some big-name companies from other parts of the world, so we are pleased to welcome so many exhibitors from e.g. Italy. Also the media interest showed noticeable growth with 1,082 representatives registered, of which 251 were foreign (234 in 2005).- We notice that the fair has become an increasingly important arena for foreign players. The figures clearly show an increase in international involvement. Many people from the international design elite were here, says Charlotte Wiking.- The Stockholm Furniture Fair has really cemented itself as a major international exhibition. In terms of quality we consider ourselves as one of the top three shows in Europe, says Björn Delin, Manager International Marketing at Stockholm International Fairs. For more information, please visit www.stockholmsmassan.se or www.stockholmfurniturefair.com alternatively contact Anna Weilemar, Press Office, telephone: +46 8 749 43 45, email: anna.weilemar@stofair.se
